Cooperation agreement with CBI
15 december 2009
Dutch Minister Bert Koenders of Development Cooperation will help Return to Sender reinforce its organisation. Return to Sender and Koenders' agency CBI (Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries) have signed a cooperation agreement.
Reinforcing producers
Return to Sender will use the CBI to further reinforce its producers' position on the world market. Return to Sender producers will be offered training courses by the CBI in their own countries. Furthermore, the CBI has an extensive network of exceptional producers that may supply products to Return to Sender in the future. “In other words, it's a perfect match”, says Hans Klunder, Director of the CBI. “Return to Sender and the CBI serve the same purpose and complement each other.” The CBI already supports more than 1000 companies in more than fifty poor countries in accessing the European market through education, knowledge and export development. “Together, we can significantly improve Return to Sender's reach.”
Valuable cooperation
The cooperation with the CBI is extremely valuable to Return to Sender: not only will the agency help us find new producers and products, but as mentioned, all producers we work with will also have access to training courses about, for instance, cost price calculations, market development and product innovation.
