The prospects for youngsters living in Brazilian favelas are often poor and many resort to crime. Diaconia is an organisation in Recife that encourages self-organising capacity in the favelas. This gives youngsters an important role, allowing them to develop their talents.

Return to Sender supports a Diaconia project that teaches twenty-five youngsters from different favelas to work with radio, film, photography and the Internet. In the course of the training, the youngsters are asked to promote their own neighbourhood and organise social activities.
